INSTRUCTIONS FOR BREWING TEA
1 Boil freshly drawn water.
2 For black, oolong, and herbal tea, use the    water when it comes to a boil. For green    tea, let the boiled water cool for    approximately 5 minutes. The water    should be used at a lower temperature of    155º - 165º F (160º F is ideal).
3 Fill a tea strainer or tea bag with two (2)    teaspoons of tea and place in (16oz) cup.    If preparing a 24 oz. pot of tea, use one    (1) tablespoon of tea in the pot.
4 Add the freshly boiled water over the tea. 5 Steep the tea according to the chart    below, then remove the tea bag or    strainer.
6 Serve and enjoy!
TYPE OF TEA          STEEPING TIME
Black                        5 minutes
Oolong                     5 minutes
Herbal                      5 minutes
Green Tea                3 minutes
INFUSERS & STRAINERS
These are perforated receptacles in which a measured amount of loose leaf tea is placed. Also known as a tea egg or ball, the infuser/strainer is placed in the teapot before adding the boiling water. Do not overstuff the infuser with tea because the leaves need room to expand and infuse the brew with flavor.
TIPS FOR BREWING
THE PERFECT CUP OF TEA

• Do not over-steep. This will cause the tea    to be bitter. If you desire a stronger tea,    add more tea rather than infusing longer    than recommended.

• Boil fresh water. Do not use water that has   already been heated. Previously boiled    water is “flat” from oxygen depletion and    not suitable for brewing a good cup of tea.

• Use filtered or bottled water. Hard or    distilled water may contain hard minerals    (e.g. calcium) which can destroy the taste    of good tea.

• Consume freshly brewed tea immediately.    If this is not possible, store the brewed    tea in a thermos to keep it as close to the    brewing temperature as possible. This will    help prevent the loss of original flavor and    aroma that occurs if there is a great    change in the temperature of the tea.
